Alex Jones, a host of the InfoWars website and a conspiracy theorist, has filed for personal bankruptcy in the aftermath of recent rulings regarding his remarks on Sandy Hook.

Jones was sentenced to pay nearly $1.5 billion to the families of Sandy Hook victims earlier this year for spreading the idea that the 2012 shooting was a fake.

Jones, who claimed to be worth between $1 million and $10 million, reportedly applied for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Texas, according to court records.

An attorney for Sandy Hook families said Jones' bankruptcy "will not work" and promised to "never stop working to enforce the jury's verdict".
