Elon Musk believes the U.S. is headed for a 'serious' recession...
The billionaire told Twitter employees last week that he feared the recession could last for "probably a year or two".
And keep in mind, Musk has already hinted that Twitter could face bankruptcy, and is trying to move the platform beyond its current ad-based revenue model.
"Frankly, the economic picture ahead is dire, especially for a company like ours that is so dependent on advertising in a challenging economic climate," he wrote in his first email to Twitter employees.
