64-year-old pop star Madonna released an unusual video on her Instagram account yesterday where she licked water from a dog bowl on all fours. The song "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges played in the background while Madonna showed off her strange moves. There are plenty of weird photos in the video including the singer squatting over a bottle of sriracha hot sauce and a picture of her aiming a mustard bottle at her buttocks.
Many of her fans cringed in second-hand embarrassment and expressed their disappointment in the comment section of her video:
“It’s getting more and more embarrassing. It’s not easy to be your fan anymore. You were an icon sadly now without style.”
“None of this is thought provoking or “different.” You lost touch. You used to be ahead of the game. You created it. The changes to your body too. This is all screaming desperation to stay young or relevant. The last thing any of us would have expected from Madonna…”
“It has no meaning.. no depth.. this is not Art.. this is you destroying the Iconic Madonna that you created!”
Madonna's disturbing behavior on social media seems to have landed her in the doghouse with many of her most ardent fans, but with this strange video perhaps she's begging to be treated like a problematic puppy.
