A man was caught living in the dorms and pretending to be a student at Stanford University for at least 10 months.
When police finally found him, he was living in a dorm's basement and claimed to have lived in at least five dorms.
Stanford spokeswoman Dee Mostofi says the university has protocols to prevent this sort of thing, but in this case, the man's "persistence and ability to ingratiate himself with our student community has made it clear that gaps exist in those protocols.”
She says the university’s Department of Public Safety removed him from the campus last week and it will review its procedures to prevent something like this from happening again.
