In a case of life imitating art: video shows a shark swimming down a Florida street in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
The video, taken in Fort Meyers by Dominic Cameratta, shows the shark moving through the water as wind blew debris around.
In an interview with the AP, Cameratta says the sight took him by surprise:
"I didn't know what it was—it just looked like a fish or something...I zoomed in, and all my friends are like, 'It's like a shark, man!'
While many took the video and ran with calling it a real-life Sharknado, some experts aren't totally convinced it was a even shark at all.
Experts were of mixed opinion on whether the clip showed a shark or another large fish. George Burgess, former director of the Florida Museum of Natural History's shark program, said in an email that it "appears to be a juvenile shark," while Dr. Neil Hammerschlag, director of the University of Miami's shark conservation program, wrote that "it's pretty hard to tell."
