FDA Says Hepatitis A Outbreak Linked To Strawberries

You might want to skip the strawberry shortcake this Memorial Day.

The FDA has linked an outbreak of Hepatitis A cases to strawberries sold at Walmart, Kroger, and various other retailers.

The investigation involves FreshKampo and H-E-B brand organic strawberries that were purchased between March 5th and April 25th.

Most of the berries have been off shelves for a while, so officials are issuing the warning for anyone who may have purchased the berries and froze them for later use.

Seventeen cases have been reported so far in California, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canada and 12 cases have required hospitalization.
