LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A wind advisory is in effect in parts of Los Angeles County from noon until 9 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
West winds from 20 mph to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected in the Antelope Valley and in Lancaster and Palmdale.
Northwest and west winds from 20 mph to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in the Los Angeles County mountains, Acton and Mount Wilson until 3 a.m. Wednesday. Winds are expected to be strongest in the Interstate 5 corridor.
Gusty winds can create reduced visibility from blowing dust and make driving difficult. Gusty winds can blow down tree limbs and cause power outages.
The NWS recommends using caution when driving, especially those in high-profile vehicles, and securing outdoor objects.
