For the first time [in for] ever, a huge lot of Disneyland history and memorabilia will be made available to the public for purchase via auction. Hundreds of different lots will be for sale by Heritage Auctions in what’s being referred to as “one of the most significant assemblages” of Disney parks items in history.

The lots will include park-used signs, props and other artifacts from Disneyland and other Disney theme park properties, all of which come from the personal collection of Scott Rummell. Scott is a widely known voice actor who has been heard in various animated and commercial projects for Disney and others throughout his career. He began acquiring all his Disneyland artifacts at a young age and continued expanding his collection after marrying his wife, Terry, who had a collection of her own.

“At one point, we had a room that was our Disney room – that was where we had it all displayed,” shared Rummel in a news release distributed by Heritage Auctions. “When we moved into the house, we thought it was crazy to have all these posters rolled up in tubes, so we hired people who worked for Disney to redesign the house specifically for the collection.”

In what can only be described as a collector’s paradise, the Heritage Auctions event will include some of the rarest Disneyland pieces to ever go on sale via auction. Among them, a completely original ride vehicle from Autopia. It includes the original body, chassis and tires and is believed to be the most complete original vehicle to come to auction in history. It should be noted for anyone interested that due to safety reasons, the vehicle’s original engine was not allowed for purchase at the time of its original sale, said Heritage.

Additionally, an original Skyway gondola from Disneyland will also be available at the auction, with its current bid sitting at more than $10,000. The Skyway opened in 1956, a year after the park opened to the public, and operated for about 40 years before closing in 1996. Like the Autopia vehicle, this gondola is one of the rarest Disney vehicles to ever head to auction, according to Heritage’s site.

One more vehicle – a professionally restored and repainted car from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in Disney World – will be included in the auction. The car has been modified to include working headlights and spinning wheels.

Rummel says he’s excited for his collection to transition to the next generation of Disney fanatics, and says he’ll most miss his 1967 park-used Rocket Jets vehicle. He says his family will use the proceeds from the sale to fund future family trips and Disney adventures. He intends to pass down his love for the “Happiest Place on Earth” to his kids and grandchildren.

For those serious interested in what’s for sale, Rummel’s collection opens for in-person bids on May 21st and closes the following day. The items will be made available to view at Heritage Auction’s Beverly Hills location on the Thursday and Friday prior to the commencement of bidding.
