Six people were killed in a shooting in downtown Sacramento early Sunday morning.
At least 16 people were shot in the incident, which happened just blocks away from the state Capitol building.
"Sadly, we once again mourn the lives lost and for those injured in yet another horrendous act of gun violence," California Governor Gavin Newsom shared in a statement. "Jennifer and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and to the wider community impacted by this terrible tragedy."
