NFL Changes Playoff OT Rules To Guarantee Each Team At Least One Possession

The NFL's overtime rules are getting a tweak for next year's playoffs.

  • On Tuesday, owners voted 29-3 to adopt a rule change that guarantees each team at least one possession in overtime.
  • The rule change will only apply to the playoffs, where the team that wins the overtime coin toss is 10-2 since 2010 - including the Chiefs in last season's infamous 42-36 OT win over the Bills, where Josh Allen never got to touch the ball in overtime.
  • Do you agree with the rule change? Should it be applied to ALL overtime games, and not just the postseason?
