The United States has formally accused Russia of committing war crimes against Ukraine.
- The accusation comes after a State Department investigation into Russia’s invasion of its neighboring country, which has left “thousands of innocent civilians killed or wounded,” says Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
- "Since launching his unprovoked and unjust war of choice, Russian President Vladimir Putin has unleashed unrelenting violence that has caused death and destruction across Ukraine,” Blinken says. “We've seen numerous credible reports of indiscriminate attacks and attacks deliberately targeting civilians, as well as other atrocities. Many of the sites Russia's forces have hit have been clearly identifiable as in-use by civilians."
- Should the rest of the world take action against Russia?
