Baseball Legend Sandy Koufax to be Honored with Statue at Dodger Stadium

Joining fellow Hall of Fame Legend Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax will receive a bronze statue at Dodger Stadium later this year during the MLB season.

Announced Monday by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the unveiling will happen on June 18th before the team hosts the newly named Cleveland Guardians. The first 40,000 fans will receive a replica statue.

The statue was originally scheduled to be unveiled in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed to a later date.

Koufax, now 86 years old, will have his likeness enshrined near his late teammate Jackie Robinson in the center-field plaza. The statue will be sculpted by Branly Cadet, the same creator of the Robinson statue which was unveiled back in April of 2017.
