After a 4-month closure, MacArthur Park has reopened!
The park underwent $1.5 million in renovations, underwent cleaning, and improvements to infrastructure were conducted.
According to LA City Councilman Gil Cedillo, the park had approximately 200 trees planted, new plants, an irrigation system was installed, as well as 75,000 square feet of new walkways and a new parking lot were added to the park.
Prior to its closure, MacArthur Park had a large homeless presence.
Since its closure, approximately 200 people who lived in MacArthur Park were moved to housing.
