Former employee Los Angeles Angels employee Eric Kay has been convicted on charges connected to the overdose death of pitcher Tyler Skaggs.
- A jury in Fort Worth delivered its decision Thursday after three hours of deliberation, finding the 47-year-old guilty of drug distribution and drug conspiracy. Kay, who was escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs, faces 20 years to life in prison when he's sentenced on June 28th, prosecutors say.
- Skaggs, 27, died July 1st, 2019, after ingesting a toxic mix of alcohol, fentanyl and oxycodone, the coroner reported. During the trial, five MLB players testified that Kay often supplied oxycodone pills to the team, including Skaggs.
