Shawn Laval Smith was arrested after a tip led police to a bus stop in Pasadena.

“I can confirm officers from Pasadena PD did take Mr. Smith into custody earlier today,” Pasadena Police Lt. William Grisafe told The Post. “We had been notified by a community member, that they believed the wanted person was at the bus bench located at Colorado Blvd. and Fair Oaks Ave.”

LAPD had released a photo of 31-year-old Shawn Laval Smith, a suspect in the stabbing death of 24-year-old UCLA student Brianna Kupfer.

A $250,000 reward is being offered to help track down the person responsible for murder of Brianna Kupfer in a random attack at the luxury furniture store Croft House in the 300 block North of la Brea Ave on January 13th.

LAPD says the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, do not approach, call 911.

LONG HISTORY OF ARRESTS

Suspect has a lengthy rap sheet with previous charges out of California, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Fox News reports that "online records show at least 11 arrests in Charleston, S.C., dating back to 2010, including a pending case for allegedly discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle on Nov. 13, 2019."

Smith was accused of firing a flare gun into a car occupied by a man and his child.
Records show he was released on Nov. 23, 2019, after posting $50,000 bond.

The last court action was March 2020.

Oct. 27, 2020 - Los Angeles County Jail records show Smith is arrested on a misdemeanor charge. He was released on $1,000 bail. The outcome of this case was not immediately clear. HISTORY OF ARRESTS
