In a 15-0 vote on Thursday, a CDC panel decided to recommend the vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna over Johnson and Johnson’s.
- As a result, “mRNA vaccines are preferred over the Janssen Covid-19 vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 for those 18 years of age and over," reads a statement released by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
- Fueling the committee’s decision was documentation that revealed at least 54 Johnson and Johnson recipients have suffered from a rare blood clotting syndrome as a result of being inoculated with the vaccine. Nine of them – seven women and two men – have died.
- If you received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, do you feel a little cheated right now?
