A California man who reportedly punched a flight attendant several times last week has been indicted on federal assault charges, authorities say.
- Irvine resident Brian Hsu, 20, was aboard an American Airlines flight from New York to Orange County when he got into a spat with a flight attendant. Although some passengers say the dispute was over a mask, others say the flight attendant simply bumped Hsu as she walked by. Either way, they all agree on one thing: Afterwards, Hsu got out of his seat, walked by to the galley and punched the flight attendant twice. The plane was diverted to Denver and Hsu was taken into custody.
- "Acts of violence against our team members are not tolerated by American Airlines," reads a statement released Monday. It goes on to say Hsu has been banned from the airline for life.
- Why have people suddenly become so aggressive toward flight attendants?
