Want To Volunteer To Help Clean Up The Oil Spill?

Crews have been working non-stop in Orange County over the last week to clean up the oil spill that's affecting local beaches and wildlife, but they need more help.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Oil Spill Prevention and Response is looking to get at least 1,500 volunteers signed up to help them. You'll receive about four hours of training in order to ensure that you properly know how to dispose of hazardous materials. Right now they're using trained volunteers, but Supervisor Katrina Foley says once conditions are deemed safe, they'll start calling on the volunteers that have signed up through the website.
