Netflix's ‘Outer Banks' Tops Streaming Ratings For Third Consecutive Week

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - “Outer Banks'' edged “CoComelon'' to top the list of most-streamed programs for the third consecutive week, according to figures released today by Nielsen.

Viewers watched 736 million minutes of the 20 episodes of the teen mystery between Aug. 16-22, 36.6% less than the 1.16 billion minutes watched the previous week, the second full week its 10-episode second season was available on Netflix.

Viewers watched 732 million minutes of the 12 episodes of “CoComelon.'' Viewership of Netflix's 12-episode 3D animated series of videos of traditional nursery rhymes and original children's songs was up 2.5% from the 714 million minutes the previous week, when it finished fourth.

“All American'' dropped to seventh after back-to-back second-place finishes that followed a first-place finish. The 51 episodes of The CW high school football drama were watched for 643 million minutes on Netflix, 27.2% less than the 883 million minutes the previous week.

There were three programs in the latest top 10 that were not in the previous week's.

“Grace and Frankie'' was third, with 716 million minutes watched of 83 episodes of the Netflix comedy, including the first four episodes of its seventh and final season, which were released Aug. 13.

The addition of 12 episodes brought the canceled NBC supernatural drama “Manifest'' back to the top 10 after a one-week absence, with viewers watching 705 million minutes of its 42 episodes, fourth for the week. Viewership was 88% higher than the 375 million minutes watched of 30 episodes the previous week.

The Netflix action thriller film “Sweet Girl'' was sixth, with 658 million minutes watched in its first three days of release.

Dropping out of the top 10 were the AMC horror series “The Walking Dead,'' the Israeli-American original thriller series “Hit & Run'' and the NBC medical drama “Chicago Med,'' which finished sixth, eighth and 10th the previous week.

For the fourth consecutive week, all 10 programs in the top 10 stream on Netflix. Nielsen also announces streaming viewership of Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Hulu programming.

The top 10 consisted of five programs that originally aired on U.S. broadcast networks, two original streaming series, two movies and “CoComelon,'' which originated on YouTube.

The top 10 programs were “Outer Banks''; “CoComelon''; “Grace and Frankie''; “Manifest''; “Grey's Anatomy''; “Sweet Girl''; “All American''; “Criminal Minds''; “NCIS''; and “Vivo.''

The figures only reflect television set-related viewing, including such television-connected devices as Roku and Apple TV. Mobile-only viewing is not included in Nielsen's streaming measurement systems.
