A hospital in rural New York is halting all maternity services after several employees quit instead of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Six employees at the Lewis County Health System have resigned, and seven more are unwilling to get vaccinated.
- The move appears to be temporary as CEO Gerald R. Cayer said the health system will focus on recruiting nurses during the "pause" in services to get baby deliveries back up and running.
- Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo passed a mandate requiring all healthcare workers in New York to get their first dose of the vaccine by September 27.
- Have you (or someone you know) quit their job because of a vaccine mandate?
