The Los Angeles Unified School District's Board of Education voted unanimously Thursday to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for all students 12 years old and up.
- The nation's second-largest school district has more than 600,000 students.
- All students ages 12 and older will now be required to be fully vaccinated by January 10, 2022, unless they have a "medical or other exemption."
- Interim Superintendent Megan Reilly said in a statement following the vote, "The science is clear -- vaccinations are an essential part of protection against COVID-19."
- Do you think other school districts around the country will soon put the same mandate in place? Should they?
