NORWALK (CNS) - A person who sheriff's deputies say is a documented gang member is under arrest today -- charged with possession of a concealed firearm.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Norwalk Station received a call about 7 p.m. Tuesday of an assault with a deadly weapon near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Pioneer Boulevard, said a Norwalk Station spokesman.
While investigating the call, deputies came in contact with the suspect, and during their contact discovered the suspect was in possession of a handgun, the spokesman said.
No further details were available, and the case remains under investigation.
