'Sweet Tooth' Tops Streaming Viewership

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - “Sweet Tooth'' topped the latest list of the most-watched streamed programs, with viewers watching 1.434 billion minutes of the eight-episode Netflix fantasy drama in its full week of release, according to figures released by Nielsen.

Viewership was 80.6% higher between June 7-13 than May 31-June 6, when viewers watched 794 million minutes of the Netflix series in its first three days of release, third for the week.

“Manifest'' was second for the week, with viewers watching 1.111 billion minutes of the 29 episodes of the first two seasons of the canceled NBC supernatural drama in the first four days it was streaming on Netflix.

Three other programs were in the latest Top 10 that were not in the previous week's.

The premiere of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series “Loki'' which streams on Disney+, was fifth with 731 million minutes watched in the first five days it was available.

“Downtown Abbey'' was eighth for the week, with viewers spending 630 million minutes watching 50 episodes of the 2010-15 Public Broadcasting Service British historical drama in its first full week on Netflix since February 2013.

“CoComelon'' returned to the Top 10 after a one-week absence, with viewers watching 515 million minutes of the series of 3D animation videos of both traditional nursery rhymes and original children's songs, 10th for the week.

Dropping out of the Top 10 were the true crime anthology series “Dirty John''; the Netflix comedy-drama “The Kominsky Method''; the Hulu dystopian drama “The Handmaid's Tale''; and “Heartland,'' the Canadian family drama that streams on Netflix.

“Lucifer'' dropped to third after back-to-back first-place finishes with 1.012 billion minutes watched of its 83 episodes, 44.9% less than the 1.838 billion the previous week.

The top 10 consisted of five series that originally aired on U.S. broadcast networks, three original streaming series, one movie and “CoComelon'' which originated on YouTube.

The Disney+ animated fantasy action-adventure film “Raya and the Last Dragon'' and “Loki'' were the only non-Netflix programs in the Top 10.

Nielsen also announces streaming viewership of Amazon Prime Video programming.

The Top 10 programs were “Sweet Tooth''; “Manifest''; “Lucifer''; “Raya and the Last Dragon''; “Loki''; “Grey's Anatomy''; “Criminal Minds''; “Downton Abbey''; “NCIS''; and “CoComelon.''

The figures only reflect television set-related viewing, including such television-connected devices as Roku and Apple TV. Mobile-only viewing is not included in Nielsen's streaming measurement systems.
