LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Three days after filing the case, rapper UTK the INC dropped a defamation suit he filed against a woman with whom he once had a casual, non-exclusive relationship.

Lawyers for the entertainer filed court papers on Friday with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry Green asking for dismissal of the case. No reason was given.

The 37-year-old singer, whose real name is Utkarsh Ambudkar, brought the suit June 29 against Bianca DiMillo, alleging she defamed him on social media out of spite for not showing his commitment to her by falsely claiming he was an abuser of women.

The suit alleged libel, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He sought unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

In addition to his singing career, UTK the INC also is a film, television and theater actor and writer who performed at the 2020 Oscars. He and DiMillo had a consensual, non-exclusive sexual relationship from April 2018 to January 2019, according to the suit.

“The casual nature of their relationship is further evidenced by the fact that they never spent the night together and only went out in public together twice,'' the suit states.

DiMillo repeatedly said she wanted a committed exclusive relationship with the plaintiff, but he was clear he was “not  interested in getting serious with her,'' the suit states.

When DiMillo found out that UTK the INC was seeing another woman whom he subsequently married, she became “enraged and embarked on a public campaign to destroy him by falsely labeling him as a serial abuser,'' according to the suit.

In the days leading up to Jan. 19, 2019, DiMillo and UTK the INC spoke over the phone and she expressed her love for him, told him he needed to atone for choosing someone else over her and threatened to contact his future wife to do whatever she could to ruin his relationship if he did not come see her, according to the suit.

Fearing what DiMillo might do, the singer visited her under duress and the two had consensual sex, the suit states.

“At no time did Ms. DiMillo express that these sex acts were anything less than consensual and welcomed,'' the suit states.

UTK the INC subsequently married his future wife, and in March 2019, according to the suit. DiMillo, “motivated by her scorn over her unreciprocated love for (the plaintiff), began her campaign to destroy him,'' the suit states.

DiMillo targeted UTK the INC on Instagram and Twitter social media, saying he had a “history of mentally abusing women,'' that he “abuses women mentally and sexually'' and, “A day will come when you think yourself safe and happy, and suddenly your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth,'' the suit states.

“Ms. DiMillo is and was well aware that these statements are entirely false and that (UTK the INC) has never sexually assaulted or abused her or anyone else,'' the suit states.

Faye Orlove, a friend of DiMillo, has never met UTK the INC, but posted on her social media that he “is a predator and I have heard so many stories about his assaults on women,'' the suit states.

“After nearly two years of enduring this public character assassination blitz which has continued up through this year, (the singer) sent cease-and-desist letters to Ms. DiMillo and Ms. Orlove on Feb. 26 to no avail,'' the suit states.
