Olympic organizers have been distributing free condoms to the athletes in the Olympic Village since the 1988 Seoul Games in South Korea... Because yes, that's exactly what goes down when athletes aren't competing...
And while the upcoming Olympic games in Tokyo will be no different, Japanese officials are now telling the athletes not to use them while in Tokyo -- and to take the prophylactics home as 'souvenirs' instead.
The official rules for the upcoming games call for all athletes to "avoid unnecessary forms of physical contact," which includes having sex with other participants, organizers say.
"The distributed condoms are not meant to be used at the Olympic Village," the organizing committee told AFP.
The announcement comes right after the Tokyo Olympic Committee banned thin polyurethane condoms, (which are reportedly more pleasurable for the wearer), in favor of thick latex versions...
