Cities Around the Country Brace for Chauvin Verdict

Minneapolis and other US cities are ramping up security in preparation for a verdict this week in the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin.

Chauvin was charged in the death of George Floyd after kneeling on his neck, which then sparked protests across the country.

The city of Minneapolis is moving public schools to virtual learning this week. and 3,000 members of the Minneapolis National Guard have also been called in to help.

Increased security measures are also taking place in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and New York to prepare for any raucous protests.
