LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Ballot drop boxes will be available starting today for the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council elections for Region Five, which includes Greater Wilshire, Hollywood and surrounding areas.
The boxes will be available for people to drop off their ballots from 8 Friday morning through 8 p.m. on election day, March 16.
Ballot boxes are located at:
-- the Hollywood Recreation Center, 1122 Cole Ave., for the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council election;
-- the Cahuenga Branch Library, 4591 Santa Monica Blvd., for the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council election;
-- the John C. Fremont Branch Library, 6121 Melrose Ave., for the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council election;
-- the Will & Ariel Durant Branch Library, 7140 Sunset Blvd., for the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council election;
-- the Hollywood Regional Branch Library, 1623 Ivar Ave., for the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council election;
-- the Fairfax Branch Library, 161 South Gardner St., for the Mid City West Neighborhood Council election; and
-- the Robertson Branch Library, 1719 South Robertson Blvd., for the Pico Neighborhood Council Election.
To sign up to receive a ballot, voters can submit an application on the city's online portal at https://bit.ly/3l8GRv6.
People can also mail their ballots, and any ballot postmarked by Tuesday and received within 10 days will be accepted. The U.S. Postal Service urges people to return their ballots early to avoid delays.

Neighborhood councils are advisory bodies that advocate for their communities with City Hall on important issues such as development, homelessness and emergency preparedness.
