LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles was the most wishlisted destination on Airbnb in 2021, the vacation platform announced today.
Over a quarter of the people who wishlisted Los Angeles said their top priority for travel was relaxation.
“Hugged between mountains and the ocean, the natural landscape of L.A.'s laidback enclaves like Venice Beach and Silver Lake might be enough to bring travelers peace of mind,'' a report by Airbnb said.
For people eager to visit the entertainment capital of the United States, Airbnb has created online experiences while would-be travelers wait out the pandemic.
Experiences include a one-hour fluid art class, available for $24 athttps://bit.ly/3ckNPsL , and a one-hour astrology night to discover the night sky from a big city, available for $16 at https://bit.ly/38sACNE.
Other cities that ranked on the list include Sevierville, Tennessee; Seoul, South Korea; Atlanta, Georgia; Paris, France; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Bali, Indonesia; Mexico City, Mexico; Cape Town, South Africa; and London.
Airbnb also cited a recent survey that found that 76% of U.S. consumers said their mental health was helped during the pandemic by thinking about future travel plans. About 60% of them said they plan to visit new places and return to old favorites when travel is safe again.
The survey was conducted between Feb. 19 and Feb. 21 through a sample of 2,000 adults. The margin of error is 2.2%, Airbnb said.
