Motorcyclist in El Monte Killed in Crash With Vehicle That Drove Away

EL MONTE (CNS) - A motorcyclist in El Monte was struck and killed by a vehicle whose motorist drove away from the crash scene, police said today.

Officers were dispatched at 7 p.m. Saturday to the crash scene in the area of Peck Road and Lower Azusa, El Monte Police Lt. Pete Rasic said.

Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Rasic, who added that detectives were following up on witness accounts.

He had no other immediate information.

According to ABC7, surveillance video captured the hit-and-run crash and shows a 2014, four-door dark-colored truck with chrome bumpers turning into the path of the biker before driving off.

El Monte police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-580-2109.
