A virtual court hearing in Texas on Tuesday had to be temporarily paused when a cat showed up in place of one of the attorneys.
- Actually, Presidio County Attorney Rod Ponton was virtually present via Zoom, but because he couldn't figure out how to remove the cat filter from his computer, the court saw him as a fluffy white and brown kitten. "I'm here live; I'm not a cat," a frustrated Ponton told the judge as he struggled to turn off the filter. "I'm prepared to go forward with it!"
- Fortunately for Ponton, District Court Judge Roy Ferguson appeared to find the feline faux pas amusing and he put the hearing on hold while the lawyer figured out how to become human again. "If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video options to be sure filters are off," Ferguson later tweeted. "This kitten just made a formal announcement on a case in the 394th."
- What's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you during a Zoom conference?
