New Data From The CDC Says Schools Can Be Reopened Safely

A new CDC report suggests that schools can be safely re-opened, as long as proper safety guidelines are met...

The report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found "little evidence" that schools "contributed meaningfully to increased community transmission". It also recommends that schools require facemasks and 'increased physical distance', along with improved air ventilation and expanded testing.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected K-12 schools across the US," the researchers wrote. "Accumulating data now suggest a path forward to maintain or return primarily or fully to in-person instructional delivery. Actions include taking steps to reduce community transmission and limiting school-related activities such as indoor sports practice or competition that could increase transmission risk."

However, the report also claims that certain activities likes indoor sports practices might result in a higher infection rate.
