On the heels of California Gov. Gavin Newsom lifting the regional stay-at-home orders across the state, health officials in L.A. County announced that a new health order allowing outdoor dining to resume will go into effect beginning on Friday.
Other nonessential businesses, such as nail salons and barbershops will be allowed to reopen immediately with capacity limited to 25%. Indoor malls, shopping centers, and lower-risk retail will also be allowed to open for 25% capacity. Food courts and common areas will remain closed.
Also starting today, private gatherings (limited to 3 households and a total of 15 people outside) have also been given the OK by health officials. Entertainment centers such as Museums, zoos, and aquariums will be allowed to open for outdoor operation.
Cardrooms, miniature golf, go karts, and batting cages will also be allowed to reopen at 50% capacity.
Faith based services will be allowed to proceed, so long as they are hosted in an outdoor setting.
The new health orders come as Los Angeles County reported another 46 COVID-19 related deaths, raising the total to 15,303. The number is believed to be low due to lags in reporting from the weekend. The county also reported another 6,642 new cases. The cumulative total is now 1,079,369.
