LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A fire damaged a house in the Hollywood Hills today, but no one was hurt.
The fire was reported at 4:52 a.m. in the two-story building in the 1700 block of North Courtney Avenue, near Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters found heavy fire coming from the structure, and at least one nearby building exposed to flames, according to Margaret Stewart of the LAFD.
The firefighters apparently gained the upper hand on the flames within about an hour, but continued their efforts to fully extinguish the flames.
“Excessive storage both exterior and interior are hampering firefighters ability to access the remaining areas with fire,'' Stewart said in a statement. “Fire crews prevented the fire from damaging any exposed buildings.''
The flames were extinguished in an hour and 56 minutes, Stewart said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
