Coronavirus vaccines are rolling out... But if you want to do things like travel, go to the movies, attend concerts, and shop like normal again, you just might need a vaccine passport.
Several big tech companies have started creating technology for users to upload details about their COVID-19 vaccine history, all in hopes that it will help bring us back to doing things in 2021!
And several airlines, including Jet Blue and United, have just partnered with The Common Trust Network. They say they will have a 'CommonPass App' where a QR code can be generated to show a person's vaccine and medical history to show authorities.
According to their website, the CommonPass Platform "lets individuals present the health information they have accessed from Common Trust Data Sources to demonstrate that they meet the health entry requirements of their destination. If they meet the requirements, the platform generates a simple yes/no CommonPass Certificate that they can use to demonstrate their compliance without revealing any personal health information."
"You can be tested every time you cross a border. You cannot be vaccinated every time you cross a border," Thomas Crampton, chief marketing and communications officer for The Commons Project, told CNN.
