Average L.A. County Gas Price Rises For Fifth Consecutive Day    

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the fifth consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $3.176, one day after recording its largest daily increase since July 24, 1.4 cents.  

The average price is 1.9 cents more than one week ago and 3.1 cents higher than a month ago, but 47.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.  

It has dropped 43.9 cents since the start of this year, but increased 2.9 cents over the past five days.  

The Orange County average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.162, one day after its largest daily increase since Nov. 1, 2019, 1.8 cents. It is 2.9 cents more than one week ago and 5 cents higher than a month ago, but 41 cents less than one year ago.  

The Orange County average price has dropped 38.3 cents since the start of the year, but increased 3 cents over the past four days.
