LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell one-tenth of a cent today to $3.152.
The average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, one-tenth of a cent lower than one month ago, and 59.3 cents cheaper than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has changed by one-tenth of a cent or been unchanged for four consecutive days.
The Orange County average price fell four-tenths of a cent to $3.124. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago, a half-cent more than one month ago, and 53.8 cents lower than one year ago.
“Gas prices have been stable for close to four months now,'' Marie Montgomery, a public relations specialist with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service.
“For much of this year gas stations have not been lowering prices significantly, likely because they have been losing revenue as have other businesses. There is room for some price movement downward, so we will have to see if the additional stay-at-home orders spur competition and bring gas prices down.''
