C Line (Green) Temporary Partial Service Suspension Planned This Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will temporarily suspend rail service on the C Line (Green) between the Harbor Freeway and Aviation/LAX stations beginning tonight through Sunday to upgrade signal systems.

Construction work is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. today and conclude at midnight on Sunday.

Metro will provide a free bus shuttle service to the following rail stations that will be out of service: Harbor Freeway, Vermont/Athens, Crenshaw, Hawthorne/Lennox and Aviation/LAX.

Shuttle buses will run the same train schedule on Friday, Saturday and Sunday every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and every 20 minutes at other times.

Metro recommends passengers plan in advance their commute times and allow extra time.

Regular C Line rail service will continue between the Norwalk and Harbor Freeway stations, where passengers will transfer to bus shuttles to continue their trip, and from the Aviation/LAX to Redondo Beach stations.

For those planning to go to Los Angeles International Airport, the LAX Shuttle G operated by Los Angeles World Airports will continue to run regular service from its usual stop at the Aviation/LAX Station. Other options to LAX include Metro Lines 102, 111, 117 and 232.
