- All three major US indices were surging Monday on news from drug-makers Pfizer and BioNTech - that their coronavirus vaccines were nearly 90% complete.
- The Dow had been up more than 1,200 points in early trading. In the end it closed 834 points higher. Up nearly 3%, at 29,158.
- The S&P added 41 points. Up 1.17%, at 3,550.
- The NASDAQ lost steam and ended up closing down more than 181 points. Losing 1.53% on the day - closing at 11,713.
