Joe Biden Says 'We Have to Be Patient' to Wait for All Votes to be Counted

Former Vice President Joe Biden reassured supporters that he was in the presidential race for the long haul, as election results continue to trickle in from around the country.

"We knew this was going to go long," he told a crowd Tuesday night from Wilmington, Delaware. "“We feel good about where we are, we really do," he said. "I’m here to tell you tonight we believe we're on track to win this election.

"We knew, because of the unprecedented early vote and the mail-in vote, it was gonna take a while," Biden continued. "We're going to have to be patient until... the hard work of tallying votes is finished, and it ain't over until every vote is counted, everybody ballot is counted."

Meanwhile President Donald Trump telegraphed that he might declare victory tonight, tweeting that he planned to address his supporters tonight.

"I will be making a statement tonight. A big WIN!" Trump tweeted.

A few moments later, he followed up with another tweet that said: "We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!"

Twitter quickly labeled the president's tweet with a warning that Trump's tweet contains information that is "disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process."

In a statement, the social media company wrote that "We placed a warning on a Tweet from @realDonaldTrump for making a potentially misleading claim about an election. This action is in line with our Civic Integrity Policy.”
