Little Change to Average L.A. County Gas Price

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent today for the second consecutive day to $3.189.

The average price has dropped seven of the past eight days, decreasing 1.1 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1 cent less than one week ago, 3.1 cents lower than one month ago, $1.034 cheaper than one year ago and has decreased 42.6 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped a half-cent to $3.151, one day after decreasing two-tenths of a cent. It is 1.1 cents less than one week ago, 3.7 cents lower than one month ago and $1.03 cheaper than one year ago. It has decreased 39.4 cents since the start of the year.

“Supplies of the `summer blend' of California gasoline are still plentiful, but prices are still just inching downward,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

“However, fall gas prices have not been this low since 2017 and the 80% of fall travelers who plan to drive to their destinations will save about $16 per fill-up compared to last year at this time.''
