This is one of the most important propositions on this ballot.
John & Ken strongly encourage a YES vote on Prop 22.
CA Sec of State describes Prop 22:
Classifies app-based drivers as "independent contractors," instead of "employees," and provides independent-contractor drivers other compensation, unless certain criteria are met. Fiscal Impact: Minor increase in state income taxes paid by rideshare and delivery company drivers and investors.
Basically, the government should leave independent contractors alone. Let them decide when, where and for whom they choose to work.
Yes on Prop 22 says gives the Uber and Lyft drivers a break from AB 5, the free lancer killer bill from hack Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, who called many of the jobs killed by the bill, "not real jobs anyway".
