LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Rail service on the Metro C Line (Green) between the Crenshaw and Redondo Beach stations will be temporarily suspended tonight thru Sunday to upgrade signal systems, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said.
Construction work is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. and conclude just before midnight on Sunday.
Metro will provide free bus shuttle service to the rail stations that will be out of service, which will be the Crenshaw, Hawthorne/Lennox, Aviation/LAX, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach stations.
Shuttle buses will run the same train schedule on Friday, and every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and every 20 minutes at other times.
Metro officials said passengers should plan in advance their commute times and allow for extra time.
Regular C Line rail service will continue between Norwalk and Crenshaw stations, where passengers will transfer to bus shuttles to continue their trip.
People planning to travel to Los Angeles International Airport can take the LAX Shuttle G, which will continue to run its regular service from its usual stop at the Aviation/LAX Station.
Other options to LAX include taking Metro bus lines 102, 111, 117 and 232, officials said.
