Tom Konjoyan on schools applying for reopening waivers

The LA County Board of Supervisors has voted to allow some public and private schools the ability to apply for reopening waivers.

Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who proposed the motion with Supervisor Janice Hahn, said:

“As October approaches, it’s critical that we begin the process of reopening our schools at limited capacity."

Distance learning has been a major challenge for students and teachers alike. It's also been incredibly difficult for working families and lower-income families who may not have access to the tools needed to be successful.

Tom Konjoyan is Head of School at Village Christian, a private K-12 school in Sun Valley. He signed the letter calling on county Supervisors to open the waiver process, and joined us today to talk about how this affects his school.
