LOS ANGELES (CNS) -- Mayor Eric Garcetti, the national co-chair of Democratic candidate Joe Biden's campaign, traveled to Cleveland today to attend the first presidential debate.
Biden is set to debate incumbent Donald Trump at 6 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
The Los Angeles mayor said he endorsed Biden for president in January in part because of his effort to lead Los Angeles to become the first American big city to develop a $15 minimum wage. Garcetti also said his support for Biden was established based on their work together on the U.S.-China Climate Leaders Summit, which led to the Paris Agreement.
Strict COVID-19 protocols will be in place at the debate, according to Garcetti's political office.
Garcetti is set to return to Los Angeles on Wednesday.
