Lynsi Snyder of In-N-Out Burger | CEOs You Should Know

The very first In-N-Out Burger opened in Baldwin Park, California back in 1948.

Founded by Harry Snyder and his wife Esther, the two worked around the clock to provide their new restaurant (which started out as just a 10 square feet hamburger stand), with the freshest produce and ingredients for California's first customers.

Fast forward to today, and In-N-Out Burger is now run by Harry and Esther's granddaughter, Lynsi Snyder, and they have more than 300 locations across the country!

After Lynsi took over the family business in 2010, she says she's enjoyed tackling the many business challenges that have come along with it, and credits all of her decision making to the vision and commitment that her grandparents first established within the company, back in the 40's.

"My grandfather was an incredibly hard worker who was passionate about quality," Lynsi says. "Back in the day, he hand-selected only the highest quality meat, cheese and produce for his customers. My grandmother was always right there with her husband from the start, equally committed to quality and always making sure the In-N-Out Associates were treated like family. Additionally, she was the driving force behind In-N-Out's philanthropic efforts and today, the In-N-Out Burger Foundation still carries out her vision."

That's right, it's not only about the burgers at In-N-Out Burger...

Years ago, Esther Snyder and her son Rich established the Child Abuse Foundation, which later became the official In-N-Out Burger Foundation. The foundation's efforts help provide residential treatment, emergency shelter, foster care and early intervention for children in need. And, all of the administrative costs are covered by In-N-Out, so every dollar raised by the foundation is able to go straight to the child who needs it!

"I'm so blessed to have had such great family leaders come before me," Lynsi says.
