New CDC Report Says 1 in 4 Young Adults Considered Suicide During Pandemic

A CDC report reveals some devastating new statistics about young people and suicide.

The agency surveyed over 5,000 people during the last week of June about their mental health and the pandemic.

Of the participants between the ages of 18-24, 25% admitted they considered suicide as a result of the pandemic and 10% of all surveyed said they considered suicide.

The groups considered above average in feeling mental health effects of the pandemic were Black and Latino participants.

To cope, 13% of participants said they turned to substance abuse as a way to get through the stress of the pandemic.
