#TechTalk - What's going to happen to TikTok?

Yesterday Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the U.S. should remove Chinese apps like TikTok and WeChat from app stores, saying they are not to be trusted. He also called on companies to limit their apps on phones made by the Chinese company Huawei Technologies.

At a news conference Pompeo said, "“With parent companies based in China, apps like TikTok, WeChat and others are significant threats to the personal data of American citizens."

President Trump is onboard with Pompeo's sentiments and told TikTok that they must sell its U.S. business by September 15th or be banned in the United States entirely. Right now the company is in talks with Microsoft to be sold to them and ward off the ban.

So it's tick tock for TikTok, we'll see what happens! Our tech friend Marc Saltzman joined us today to discuss the future of the app giant, and also brought us some rumors on what the iPhone 12 might look like.
