Average L.A. County Gas Price Rises For Ninth Time in 10 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the ninth time in 10 days, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.178, its highest amount since March 26.

The average price has risen 4.9 cents over the past 10 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose six consecutive days before being unchanged on Tuesday.

The average price is 2 cents more than a week ago and 10.5 cents higher than one month ago but 52.2 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 43.7 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose for the 10th consecutive day Friday, increasing a half-cent to $3.168, its highest amount since March 25. It has increased 5.4 cents over the past 10 days, including two-tenths of a cent on Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 2.5 cents more than a week ago and 11.3 cents higher than one month ago but 50.2 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 31.7 cents since the start of the year.
