A new report by the Centers for Disease Control shows that almost a third of COVID-19 patients that didn't require hospitalization still suffer prolonged symptoms long after being diagnosed.
According to the findings, 71% of COVID outpatients reported fatigue as a prolonged symptom, 61% reported a cough and another 61% reported headaches.
To compare, the CDC notes that almost 90% of outpatients with the flu recover completely within two weeks.
The study also stated that those who are older and have underlying health conditions were also more likely to have prolonged illnesses.
