LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the sixth consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.167, its highest amount since March 27.
The average price has risen 3.8 cents over the past six days, including one-tenth of a cent on Sunday, after back-to-back decreases totaling six-tenths of a cent, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 3.4 cents more than a week ago and 9.3 cents higher than one month ago but 53.6 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 44.8 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.156, its sixth consecutive increase. It has risen 4.2 cents over the past six days, including four-tenths of a cent on Sunday, to its highest amount since March 26.
The Orange County average price is 4.1 cents more than one week ago and 9.7 cents higher than one month ago but 51.7 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 38.9 cents since the start of the year.
